Ingredients
12 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
1 cup light brown sugar, packed
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp fine sea salt
3/4 cup dark chocolate chips or chopped dark chocolate
1/4 cup crushed candy canes

4. Stir in the vanilla extract.
5. Combine the flour, baking soda, and sea salt.
6. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients.
7. Mix until a dough forms.
8. Fold in the chocolate and crushed candy canes.
9. Chill the dough for at least 3 hours.
10. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
11. Scoop the dough onto a baking sheet.
12. Bake for 10–12 minutes or until edges are golden.
13. Cool the cookies on a wire rack.
Notes
Chill the dough for best results.
Use quality dark chocolate for richer flavor.
Add extra candy cane pieces before baking.
