Description
A rich and hearty homemade spaghetti Bolognese recipe made with classic ingredients and bold Italian flavors.
Ingredients
1 tbsp olive oil
1 onion, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 carrot, grated
500g ground beef
400g canned crushed tomatoes
2 tbsp tomato paste
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp dried basil
Salt and pepper to taste
300g spaghetti
Grated Parmesan
Fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
2. Add chopped onion and cook for 2–3 minutes.
3. Stir in garlic and grated carrot, cook another 2 minutes.
4. Add ground beef, breaking it up with a spoon. Cook until browned.
5. Stir in tomato paste, canned tomatoes, oregano, and basil.
6. Season with salt and pepper. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.
7. While sauce simmers, cook spaghetti according to package instructions.
8. Drain the pasta and combine with the sauce.
9. Serve hot, topped with Parmesan and parsley if desired.
Notes
You can substitute beef with turkey or plant-based meat.
This sauce freezes well for up to 3 months.
