Description
Soft and buttery sugar cookies swirled with blueberry jam for a gorgeous bakery-style treat that’s easy to make at home.
Ingredients
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
½ tsp baking powder
¼ tsp salt
½ cup unsalted butter, softened
½ cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ cup blueberry jam (store-bought or homemade)
Instructions
1. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
2. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
3. Add egg and vanilla, then mix until smooth.
4. Gradually add dry ingredients to form a soft dough.
5. Spread dough on parchment paper and spoon blueberry jam on top.
6. Swirl jam gently into the dough using a spatula or knife.
7. Roll into a log using parchment paper and chill for at least 1 hour.
8. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet.
9. Slice dough into ½-inch rounds and place on the sheet.
10. Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are set.
11. Cool on pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
Notes
Do not overmix the jam to preserve the swirl effect.
Use parchment paper to help roll the dough into a log.
Chill dough completely before slicing for cleaner cuts.
Cookies stay fresh for up to 5 days in an airtight container.
