Description

Elegant, easy, and irresistible – these baked pears with creamy blue cheese are the perfect sweet and savory appetizer. Ready in under 30 minutes and ideal for holidays, dinner parties, or cozy nights in.

Ingredients

Scale

2 ripe pears, halved and cored

1/4 cup blue cheese, crumbled

1/4 cup walnuts, roughly chopped

2 tbsp honey

Fresh thyme sprigs

Freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking dish with parchment paper.

2. Halve and core the pears, then place them cut side up in the dish.

3. Spoon crumbled blue cheese into each pear’s center.

4. Sprinkle with chopped walnuts and a touch of black pepper.

5. Drizzle each pear with honey and add fresh thyme sprigs on top.

6. Bake for 20–25 minutes until pears are tender and cheese is slightly melted.

7. Serve warm with extra honey if desired.

Notes

Choose ripe but firm pears like Bosc or Anjou for best texture.

Add a drizzle of balsamic glaze for extra tang.

Pairs beautifully with a glass of chilled white wine or sparkling rosé.
